When I first heard the fib about Donald Trump - stating as if he was present way back in 1901 - 1913 - when General John Pershing commanded the " All Black " - Buffalo Soldiers. To be precise the 10th Calvary.
The 9th and 10 Calvary - the 24th and 25th Infantry Regiment - many of them lie at the Presidio Cemetery.

By the Officers' Club at the Presidio of San Francisco - where, stands Pershing Square - so this story - is close to home - because General Pershing - affectionately called " Black Jack " - by his well known and honored Buffalo Soldiers - is part of the history of the Presidio of San Francisco.

The Buffalo Soldiers and General John Pershing embarked on ships - by Lower Fort Mason - here is San Francisco - a fact many do not know - because most people are not educated on issues.
At Lower Fort Mason - where, there is a small parklet - a cannon displayed - the area name Black Point - to honor the famous all Black Buffalo Soldiers - the famous 9th and 10th Calvary and the 24th and 25th Infantry Regiments.
Few in San Francisco know about this area - but it is nice vintage point - from which one can view and enjoy - the July 4 - fireworks.
Or just go - sit down and relax and see Alcatraz and Angel Island and all the boats, ships, and other marine activities on the Bay.
You visit Upper Fort Mason - then walk north, go down the stairs - and there you see this unique spot - which is rich in history. The history of the well known - Buffalo Soldiers.

General Pershing and the Buffalo Soldiers - pursued those Native Americans and others - accompanied by the Buffalo Soldiers - the famous Geronimo being one of them - who they pursued - on the Mexican border - proved difficult to be captured.
Hence the code name " Geronimo " when the Special Forces - and other - set out on a mission - to capture some one or a group - that most find difficult to capture.
The Buffalo Soldiers had a good relationship with the Native Americans - their common denominator - valor and fortitude.
I do not want to yet into the details - but I have taken my time - and spent hundreds of hours interviewing both the Buffalo Soldiers many of them 30 years ago - where in the late 70s and 80s - they keep dying - and some of us have recored their stories - and written about them. I am one of them.
