Sea Level Rise is playing havoc - as many Nations - some in an emergency mode - have already decided - where thousands will move to countries like Australia - the Maldives comes to mind.
Other nations are gathering data - in 20 years for sure they will encounter sea level changes - drastically changing their lives and way of living.
The many smaller islands have already - encountered sea level change - we know about it - but what are we doing about it - is the question?
These many islanders are astounded how quickly the oceans are taking over the land - and sea level rise is astounding.
Others - gather data - to implement a drastic change - to move thousands of people - from areas prone to damage - twenty, thirty years from now. All sorts of models are available to analyze on the internet - here - in San Francisco - we are still asleep at the cockpit.

Here in San Francisco - even as we know about sea level change.

In San Francisco there have been talks linked to Climate Change and Sea Level rise - the Corps of Engineers - putting a figure of $8 billion to address the situation at hand.

Today pumps - pump out water from the tall buildings - from the Ferry Building all the way of Montgomery Street - few know about this - but again we are not expected to know - what is necessary to know - and only find out certain pertain facts - by mistake.
It is more a figure of $20 billion - to address Sea Level change - in a meaningful manner - but who is to say.

We are taking about $20 billion - from the experts who know me and we have been talking about these issues for the last 20 years.
The Whites have long been known for their greed - engrained in their DNA.
At the many meetings and Summits and what have you - they detail the areas that will be flooded - and the adverse impacts - there is NO money for " mitigation " and less for damages occurred and prompt - payment.
Talk is cheap - anyone can talk the talk - who can walk the walk - bring about healing and address the situation - whatever it is. One has to be educated on issues - have the ability to make quick " needs assessment " - have the money ready - and complete - the project on time - with standards - full transparency and accountability.
This City and County started the Central Subway at $600 million it is now $2 billion - the same with the Van Ness project, the TransBay project , the Water System Improvement Project, the Sewer System Improvement Project - most project - each has changed order that fill the pockets - of the crooks and politicians.
When it comes to help the victims of the surges, the floods, the loss of property - the real help needed - because of reckless planning in past years.
When it comes to restitution and healing - they look at you puzzled and with utter - disdain.
As with the raging fires - the impending Big One - those that suffer will be left to deal with the situation at hand - by themselves - make no bones about that.

We see this with the removal of our wet lands that acted as a buffer - helped to clean the Bay and provided food and solace to the many birds - that immigrated from Russia, Alaska, the Arctic and elsewhere.
The wetland were filled-in with poor fill - and now after decades - some are resorting to restoration - of the wet lands as was done at Crissy Field - and is being done at the many wet lands - on the shoreline south of San Francisco for instance - shown above.

This notion that Developers can go before any Planning Commission and use money - to pass plans - gain permits - and built skyscrapers - is utter nonsense.
When incident such as the fiasco with the Millennium Towers - happens - sinking 22 inches and titling 14 inches plus northwest - it makes a laughing stock of the Department of Building Inspection - and the abject corruption - when it comes to planning and permitting in San Francisco.
The politicians continue to implement - high density living - without any care.

These large development we see in Miami, Florida - other - so called water front developments - all prone to severe flooding - not only from Sea Level Rise but inherent Tsunamis.

We have a smaller population compared to India 1.5 billion - China 2 billion plus - our land and resources all belong to the indigenous people - stolen - each and every square inch.
Yet as a policy many Nations refuse to look at Development in a holistic manner - paying greater attention to profit making - and fostering abject greed in the process.
