WE HONOR OUR GOOD BROTHER - OUR USO - WE FONDLY CALLED HIM JUNGLE - WE MISS HIM - EVEN AS WE PREPARE OURSELVES - TO BID HIM FAREWELL.

Joseph Taeotui - Jungle -
we remember him and treasure the memories.

It is not going to be easy - we suffer and the pain is immense - it just depends - how deep your friendship, how dear your relationship, the many memories - the good times and the countless times when Jungle laughed and made things - better.

Jungle was a man of his word - he had a large heart - he embraced you - and what you saw - was all good and genuine.

In all of the times we had our conversations - it was about the youth - those he thought  deserved a second change - he said - he could handle the situation - and make good stuff happen - never mind the odds.

A week before the tragic incident - we met - and had a long conversion.

It was all about Jodie - his young daughter - that was his life.

His daughter - was his focus - he loved her so much - much as he loved his dear wife - Mollie.

We went to the SF General Hospital and spent hours - thinking about why this had to happen to a good man - God knows better - and helped keep our sanity.

We did all in our power - to steer away from - thoughts of destruction and embraced the good that Jungle reminded us - good actions, good words, goodness that he personified.

Joseph Taeotui and Mollie his wife -
we thank her for her dedication -
we all love her - and will support her -
more to get her a safe haven - a place of her own.

As we prepare to say farewell to a Matai
a  man of his word
Joseph Taeotui
his actions - good actions - spread all over
San Francisco and beyond
each and every neighborhood
loved him as a Brother -
fondly called him Jungle
he met us always with a smile
cool as a cucumber
the sweetest person you could meet
tenacious, having fortitude, love in his heart
we will forever think of you
treasure those words you spoke,   softly -
always positive and never negative
we know you are in a better place
we must grief - we must cry - we must bond
in unity - for nothing less
is what you would want of us to have - on this Earth
farewell, dear brother, Uso, very good friend -
mentor to so many youth
our hearts are heavy - and soul filled with grief
we commit ourselves to
follow your example
and make this world a better place
