GERONIMO AKA GOYATHLY - LEADER, MEDICINE MAN - VISIONARY - HE LEFT HIS LEGACY - LIED TO BY THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT - " I SHOULD NEVER HAVE SURRENDERED" - TODAY, WE REMEMBER HIM BECAUSE OF HIS LEGACY.

Geronimo - also known as Goyathly - Apache warrior and medicine man - circa 1829-1909. He left his legacy for all time.

Geronimo was born a leader - an Apache warrior.

A young Apache warrior - Geronimo, aka Goyathly - had the gifts of a " medicine man."

Geronimo - lived up the mountains with his Apache tribe - his wife, and two young girls by the Mexican Border.

The Mexican Army raided the village and murdered his wife and two young girls. This one incident riled his innermost feelings, and the rest is history.

Long live Geronimo. " I should have never surrendered."

Those of us who have studied military history - know that Geronimo was respected by those who marveled at his acumen and vision for his people.

From early on - he found it difficult to surrender to the enemy. He loved his freedom - but more, he liked to stand his ground as a warrior.

The various military officers depended on scouts and other so-called experts - who purported to know the ways of the Apache - they all fell short - because in their DNA - they were not Apache.

Every other tribe - and every other Apache clan - respected Geronimo.

From early in life - more after he lost his wife and two young daughters - some unique flame - awakened his medicinal powers.

In his dreams, he saw the future - and he was always seeking other medicine men - to have meaningful discussions - more to save and care for the Apache.

When this happens - when you see the future - you are not afraid.

Moreover, you see through the enemy - there is nothing to explain - but to address the situation.

The U.S.  Cavalry tried to track Geronimo down - failed every time.

The experienced scouts said only an Apache could compete with another Apache - their innate keen sense of the environment put every Apache in a league of his own.

Geronimo had added abilities from early on in life - much as Chief Sitting Bull - A Lokata Chief. Both were warriors that excelled in battle, and both were medicine men.

For this reason - I pay my respects to the two leading warriors.

Both - have left their legacy.

In the United States, the Army, to this day - respects the powers and ability to defeat the Apache foe - in rugged terrains and unique situations. - the Apache is supreme and unbeatable.

Chief Sitting Bull - he united the Lakota nation. We honor him in our hearts - Tatanka-Iyotanka  - circa 1831-1890 - Hunkpapa - military, religious and political leader.

Many old photographs of Geronimo - the portraits painted say more to us today.- Medicine man had supernatural powers - such powers and other abilities - could never be understood by the palefaces - not then, not now.

There was a time in Washington D.C., much like today - the White House had no clue what was happening - in the frontier land.

To steal millions of acres of land from the indigenous people who lived on Turtle Island for thousands of years - was a fact that the paleface would not consider - wrong done to the indigenous.

The paleface to this day is greedy; money and all the shit that money brings with it - is his forte.

You will never hear the paleface address the Earth as Mother Earth.

On the battlefield - given the same terrain, the same weapons, the horses to ride - time and time again - the Apache and the Lakota - beat the living shit of those that tried to confront the Apache and Lakota nation.

We all remember the defeat of Custer - who underestimated the strength and wisdom of Chief Sitting Bull in his foolishness.

Custer wanted the gold - he wanted access to the Sacred Black Hills - again, greed is all Custer cared for - he lost his life and many U.S. soldiers who did his stupid bidding.

Geronimo and his people were forcefully moved to San Carlos, Arizona, and made to live on the land - that could not be cultivated. Initially, Geronimo went with the flow - but when the U.S. Army created all sorts of stupid rules and regulations - the Apache in Geronimo warned the U.S. that the Apache valued freedom - and after all, this was their land.

In one of the meetings with the General of the Army post - the General was arbitrarily bulling Geronimo to move to Florida - where he and his people would be free after two years.

Geronimo valued his freedom and that of his tribe - and told General George Crook point blank there was so much land - nearby that the Apache could settle - after all, this was their land - Apache land.

General George Crook saw something in Geronimo and valued his friendship. However, others muddied the waters with the U.S Army.

One medicine man often met with the Apache and predicted to the Apache - the harm coming their way.

Word got out through some scouts - who reported the matter to General George Crook.

The U.S. Cavalry confronted the medicine man - who was praying and chanting.

The - U.S. Calvary confronted the medicine man and shot and killed the medicine man.

Geronimo and this tribe witnessed this atrocity - and the truce between General George Crook and Geronimo - fell apart.

General George Crook resigned and was followed by a ruthless U.S. General - General Nelson Miles.

General Nelson Miles, reminiscent of President Andrew Jackson - who hated the indigenous tribes - thought he would capture Geronimo, who returned to his abode in the mountains.

Geronimo remained elusive for years - initially, General Nelson Miles - separated the scouts and some U.S. officers - who had created a protocol to talk to Geronimo and avoid bloodshed.

Under General George Crook - Geronimo could have access to his weapons and provided essential amenities like clothing, food, and what was needed.

A small U.S. cavalry would maintain law and order.

Once Geronimo fled to the mountains - no one could track Geronimo and his followers. General Nelson Miles his folly - the Apache were superior to others - even the U.S. cavalry.

General Nelson Miles secretly met with some U.S. cavalry officers - who previously had access to Geronimo.

The plan was to force Geronimo to surrender - Geronimo and his 38 other followers.

General Nelson Miles had to win some - and the only way was to pacify Washington DC - where the big wigs make dumb decisions.

There was one U.S. calvary officer who befriended Geronimo early on - they trusted one another.

History has recorded that Geronimo surrendered to General Nelson Miles on September 4, 1886.

For 30 years, Geronimo resisted - he was convinced to give up - that over 5000 U.S. soldiers were looking for him. This was done by the U.S. Army officer who befriended Geronimo early on - and remained friends - until Geronimo surrendered and left for Florida.

The U.S. General Nelson Miles insisted that Geronimo, according to instructions from Washington DC - would be incarcerated for two years and then allowed to rehabilitate in Arizona.

Given 40 acres and so on - a lie that will live in infamy - and tarnished the name of the U.S. Army.

After two years, Geronimo and his family moved to Oklahoma.

The Great medicine man and warrior died of pneumonia at Fort Still, Oklahoma, in 1909.

Geronimo - Apache medicine man and warrior

We remember you, Geronimo, and the resistance.

The paleface hunting for you and making no progress

Every time you met the liars - they spoke with a forked tongue

"I will not surrender, " yet that came to be

from Arizona, your ancestral land, to Florida, the marshlands

then to Oklahoma - and Fort Still

where you scummed to pneumonia

The Great Spirit sees it all

Even today, the military shudder at your achievements.

When it comes to tracking, only an Apache can track

from one Apache to another - that is a gift given to no other

Decades have passed - and yet when it comes to tracking some U.S. enemy

the code mostly chosen is " Geronimo."

Geronimo lives today as he lived yesterday.

The blind cannot see the light.

There is freedom, and there is a license.

Abuse of freedom is license - that the paleface practices.

His word is NO bond - he speaks with a forked tongue.

He stole the land, raped the women, and killed the children.

Nothing much has changed from the days of

Chief Sitting Bull and Geronimo - to today

Their legacy lives forever - and we must remember that.

The paleface will fall flat on his face - his time has come.

Long live the indigenous people, those leaders that choose resistance.

Good deeds count, and our heart is in the right place. Aho.
