It is not right - it feels awful - nauseating - when you hear the about the killings and shooting - senseless - in the Bayview Hunters Point. For all the talk, there is no walk.
Not a whimper from Mayor London Breed - who has not understood what a Mayor's role should be. How could she when she is not educated on issues - less, has no etiquette. Pathetic.
This labor day - Bonnie Franklin was killed - the community is hurting - and all this and more - is overbearing. She was just 28 years old - and loved by all.
On September 7, 2022, I attended the virtual meeting held by the San Francisco Police Commission.
Chief Scott Williams gave his lengthy " Chief's Report " - he spoke of the many shootings and killings in San Francisco.
After every significant killing or shooting - there is a mandate to hold a Town Hall meeting - the SF Police Department agreed to this mandate - yet when they talk, they fail to understand - that good actions count. More transparency and accountability.
When will the Town Hall meeting be held? It should be held at City Hall in Room 250 - so reveal to all San Franciscans - the sad state of affairs - innocent people getting killed - in broad daylight - this nonsense must stop - now.
The many car break-ins, assaults - and so many other incidents - adversely impact - Quality of Life issues - in our once great City and County of San Francisco.
Bonnie Franklin, aged 28 years, was killed this Labor Day, and those that committed this crime - should be ashamed of themselves.
Bonnie Franklin and her family had to leave Bayview Hunters Point - move to Brisbane - because our Mayor London Breed - for all her talk - gives a damn about the quality of Life issues.
Of all the cities in California - where thousands have moved away - San Francisco - is high on the list.
Thousands of families who contributed so much to San Francisco - have left and will never return to San Francisco - the constituents of San Francisco are hurting. No one seems to care.
From time to time - I am forced to pinpoint what is happening in our community - the Bayview Hunters Point area.
The Main Media refers to Bayview Hunters Point as a place where crime is rampant. They know little - and we are not about to argue with those - who do not have the empirical data.
Millions of dollars flow through the Third Street corridor - mostly outsiders get the money. In fact, Bayview Hunters Point has no representative - no person from the community representing the community.
We can name all outsiders - but it will make no difference.
Recently Herm Lewis posted a video stating plainly, with love in his heart, how he started a baseball program.
Others have copied it - and will not even count him in. No respect, he says, for Herm Lewis, an OG!
Herm used his own money to bring people together. He went on to pinpoint - how outsiders come into our community and fuck things up.
I am proud of Herm Lewis.
Herm Lewis, a long time ago, said to me - he wanted a job - I made it happen.
Since then, I have kept in touch with Herm Lewis - both of us share a gift - bringing people together - and uplifting one another.
In Bayview Hunters Point, we have good OGs - unlike any other area in San Francisco. Our patience is running out - time will tell.
I have attended over 270 funerals - starting from the year 2000 to now.
In 2002 the community held a Peace Conference - at the Bayview Opera House.
In the last forty years - I have seen outsiders come into our Bayview Hunters Point and destroy the community.
The rogue developer Lennar messed with the community.
Dwyane Jones had hundreds of his payroll - now the well is dry.
We have no leaders in Bayview Hunters Point who are educated on issues - who stand up for the community.
We have leaders who spew hot air - and are sellouts on some payroll.
Most of these sellouts - on some payroll - leaching on the poor. That includes the mostly Black poverty pimp pastors.
Few remember the gang injunction imposed on Bayview Hunters Point - hundreds had to leave San Francisco and seek refuge in the East Bay and elsewhere - from 2002 to 2012.
These "sets" are not "gangs," as we have in Compton or Chicago.
These sets who once made their home in San Francisco - live elsewhere - but still, control what they controlled before.
Millions are spent on so-called Violence Prevention - we do have a sound " needs assessment" done. No sound model - for instance, Restorative Justice incorporated in addressing Violence Prevention.
The San Francisco Police Department is now using some who are supposed to help them - in providing information.
We know who they are - this model of " snitching " does not work - sound, community policing does.
My sincere condolences to the family of Bonnie Franklin.
I want to assure you - we still have a few - stellar and astute that will stand by your family.
Life is for the living, not the living dead.
Over the last thirty years - slowly but surely - mostly Blacks have played a role - in dividing the constituents of Bayview Hunters Point.
Those pity one community against the other is alive in the Bayview Hunters Point - and we have only ourselves to blame.
The Bayview Opera House is not a 501 c 3 anymore - it is there to carry on Economic Development - also called - 12L.
The community was kept out - the community was not treated with respect. The community has no say.
No meeting can be held at the Bayview Opera House without noticing the community - this does not happen. Why?
Most Bayview Opera House deliberations are illegal - managed by the Arts Commission - who gives a damn about our community.
We have no sound representation at City Hall - we have some thug from Vallejo - who cannot even respect the security Sheriff cadet - at San Francisco City Hall. Purports to represent Bayview Hunters Point, Potrero Hill, Little Hollywood, Visitation Valley - has a home in Vallejo and makes his abode there.
It is such a type of corruption that erodes transparency and accountability.
We are supposed to have an SF Police Force of two thousand.
Today it stands at one thousand two hundred - in six months - it will be eight hundred - with early retirements, sick leave, and so on.
Too many SF Police Officers are stressed out - too many Police Officers are tasked to do too much.
Crimes are increasing - over fifty percent more compared to last year - compromising Quality of Life issues - in San Francisco.
