Early on, when the Sars-CoV-2 was rampant - scientists - doing the sequencing managed to separate and work on a variant that they found that latched on multiple spokes.

Hence, a vaccine was created from this newfound variant - SOTROVIMAB, and it works.

This monoclonal antibody treatment is highly effective, and the laboratories that manufacture this vaccine - the well-known and competent -  Vir and GlaxoSmithKline - did all the heavy lifting - some years ago. 

The United States and some other nations - are stocking on this vaccine to deal with the ever surging Omicron variant.
