We remember with heavy hearts -
Joseph Taeotui (Jungle) -
his wife Mollie and daughter Jodie
in our prayers - with ardent support - Love and Peace.
Today there will be a gathering - all those who loved Joseph Taeotui - a great warrior - who was loved all over San Francisco. May his soul rest in peace - may his legacy be remembered for a long time - may justice be done - sooner not latter.
Joseph Taeotui ( Jungle ) untimely death came at the hand a coward.
A coward - who is known to the authorities - but, as we know - the forces are trying to play with fire - we are NOT going for the bait.
Even as we were at the SF General Hospital - we remember well as if it was today - the SF Police Department sending out a bulletin - that Joseph Taeotui had passed away.
All this when we were getting reports from the doctors attending to Joseph who was alive and being worked - being attended to by the surgeons and others trying to save his life.
10 days latter - he gave up his spirit.
That one bullet of five lodged in his head - the surgeons had to release the swelling of the brain - by draining fluid - and Joseph remained for 10 days - touch and go - and finally bid farewell and went to the ancestors.
We all are still in shock - and even though - the City and County of San Francisco bears responsibility.
We know very well that the authorities known who committed the crime - think they can fool all the people of the time.
Some months ago - the authorities that be - offered a $25,000 reward - to anyone knowing who committed the crime.
An insult when the normal rewards are always over $200,000 and in come cases $250,000 - no one asked for a reward - but to offer a paltry sum of $25,000 is an insult that we will long - remember.
We are NOT into money - more tainted money - we are into respect - as all decent human beings must be. No money can bring back Joseph Taeotui (Jungle) - we well respect his life and more the legacy he left when on this Earth.
We the people - who are into empathy and compassion and humanity - are not into announcements linked to a reward -
that is tainted and announced by some shady - characters.
Respect matters - we do not insult - more when it comes to those we love - that is not how we roll.
We want justice - the longer this tragic event is drawn out - a year long by today - the more determined we will be.
More to find out the truth - and as I said that authorities know - who the killer is - we are waiting for the Truth to be revealed.
The Polynesian community is still in shock and will be for a long time.
My association with the Samoan Community goes back to over 35 years plus in San Francisco - during which I have developed a unique relationship with the Samoan Sisters and Brothers.
They know me and I know them.
We all are on this Earth for a very short time - each of us - more those who respect one another as human beings - and children of God.
On this journey on Earth - we are blessed to work with all who we deem our Sisters and Brothers.
When one suffers we all suffer - and that is why I like to roll with my Samoan Sisters and Brothers - they always be it real.
Today a gathering of those that loved Joseph Taeotui - better known as JUNGLE - will take place.
I pray for the organizers to work as a team - let love be everywhere - today and every day.
Jungle was a man of PEACE and that is why is keeping with his legacy - we chose and choose today to take a route that brings holistic results.
Be it not now but soon - HOPE is critical - more, with spirituality to bring about a resolution that is much needed.
Our indigenous roots are deep - and the power of our ancestors must always be acknowledged - at times that we are enduring and witnessing. God is good.
Truth always prevails - and Justice always rules supreme in the end.
It may take sometime - but as I said - Truth to Power is what most of us believe in - with faith in God and love for our ancestors.
God be with you all - I started the day with prayer.
I will pray the whole day and night long - that is how I want to spend the day - because my heart is very heavy.
To those that I know - please spread the LOVE.
Love one another and let us remember the LEGACY left - for all of us to adhere by Jungle.
God bless you all.
