Joseph Taeotui -
far right in this photograph -
he passed away -leaving a great void -
we all will miss him - even as he leaves a legacy.
Our hearts are very heavy - we offer our condolences and stay strong to support Joseph Taeotui wife Mollie, his daughter Jodie, his immediate family, the many supporters and friends - who learned of his passing - August 22nd, 2018 before sunset.
Strong in spirit, with tenacity and fortitude, a man of Faith and Hope - Joesph Taeotui was a warrior and a man of PEACE. He leaves a legacy - and he will be in our payers for a long, long time.
The Polynesian community here in the Bay Area and world wide - has been monitoring the events - since August 13, 2018 when Joseph Taeotui was ambushed -near his home - on Kiska Road in San Francisco - a very hundred feet from a SF Police Substation.
He was shot in the face - a bullet lodged in his brain - this one singular fact - may have brought about his demise. We hope and pray those responsible will be brought to court - so far there has been talk but we have not seen the walk.
We thank the San Francisco General Hospital - for doing their best - one of a kind doctors at the hospital - known for addressing trauma and life-support incidents. Some of the best doctors and support staff in the world.
On August 22, 2018 before sunset we all gathered outside the San Francisco General Hospital - and the atmosphere was charged with sadness.
The passing of Joseph Taeotui passing away will leave a large void - within the community - and more those advocates that daily deal with San Francisco's rising Street Violence - shootings and killings.
His fellow workers did their best - many of them making a sacrifice - spending hours - a vigil outside the San Francisco General Hospital - was ever present.
Those coming to visit their loved ones - at the SF General Hospital - admired the tenacity and fortitude of Joseph Taeotui - family, friends, and supporters.
God bless you all.
Jodie, Mollie, and Joseph Taeotui -
this family man loved his daughter,
his lovely wife - and all those that came in contact
with him - a stellar Warrior and more a Peace Maker
Rest in peace Brother.
We the community support his wife, his daughter, his immediate family - and thank Joseph Taeotui - for his sacrifice and love - serving the community to the best of his ability.
Now we must roll up our sleeves and carry on the good work - bring decent people together - stand tall and represent.
There are many questions to be answered - this is not the time - to deal with those that have been slow. That time will come in due season.
Some, pretending to come to some hasty conclusion - without doing their due diligence. There is God. We are watching you all - like a hawk.
The politicians who say one thing and do another. Right now we do not want to say much on this topic - we will save it for another time.
Those who failed in their duty - will have their time - but as I said this is not the time - to say more.
We who love Joseph affection called " Jungle " - his wife, his young daughter, his immediate family, his friends and supporters.
We feel deeply - the loss of Joseph Taeotui (Jungle).
A void has been created - each of us who were close to him - will remember Joseph (Jungl ) for as long as we live.
Now, we must muster courage to live his legacy - stand tall and represent - do what we do best - make peace and bring decent people together.
We are awaiting details - about the funeral arrangements.
We all are saddened - we know that God knows best - and if he has gone to the other side - there must be a reason - that we mortals will never, ever fathom.
We all have a lesson to learn - treasure our lives - while we live here on Earth.
This journey is a short one - hopefully for us who have our work cut out for us.
Each one of us - Jungle's friends - will leave a legacy - be decent, have standards, more morals and ethics - we must stand tall and represent and take control of our destiny.
God bless you all - thanks for rallying together - putting your best foot forward. Keeping the peace.
We support the family - especially Mollie for being strong - Joe Taeotui's immediate family, the Elders, the family, the many friends, the many supporters - you all played your role well - you all did yourselves proud.
God is good - and at times like this - we must bring out the best in us - for the general good of all.
At the same time being mindful - those who represent - and have NOT done their mandated duty - who will be taken to task.
San Franciscans by far measure are decent - not so the politicians we have today - and some to the authorities who are fast asleep in the cockpit.
Rest in peace Joseph Taeotui - good friend - we had a good ride while on this Earth - now that you are in a better place - we pray and hope - all is well.
May your soul - rest in peace. Talofa.
