THE UNITED STATES - KEEPS HOODWINKING - WHEN IT COMES TO TRUE HUMAN VALUES - AND IN DOING SO - HAS FAILED TO REPRESENT - ON MANY LEVELS - THIS IN INDIGENOUS PEOPLES LAND.

Native Americans have lived on Turtle Island

this is indigenous land - Turtle Island 

which has stood the test of time

our ancestors took little and kept more intact

for future generations
with the strangers who invaded Turtle Island 
all of them without documents 
Greed is their god  

The United States of America

 purports that Turtle Island belongs to the Republic  

strangers that came here less than 400 years ago -
bit the hand that fed them - those that landed
on some strange land
famished and half dead 
the Native Americans quenched their thirst 
fed them berries, wild fowl, yams, and other nourishing
food and made them well

today most that was pristine and sacrosanct  

has been contaminated - an insult to Mother Earth

 

 Here on Turtle Island 

the ancestors laid the norms of the land
many Tribes were Matriarchal -
and many still remain - and keep the culture intact

democracy was part of the Six Nations - the Iroquois Tribe

for 15,000 years - let this be known and understood

the Founding Fathers met with the leaders 

of the Six Nations - incorporated much of the practices 

of the Six Nations - in the United States Constitution
the insult heaped on the Native Americans 
is known world wide - the Reservations the most
shaming - Native Americans deprived of Freedom
there is Freedom and there is License 
abuse of Freedom is License

There is an understanding - that the indigenous value
 - a spiritual and nature balance kept in harmony -
 with all that that has life on Mother Earth 
when life of the animals, birds, fish is taken 
a prayer said 
- one life sustains the other - more we human beings 
 - indigenous people know their place 
you take little - and leave more for future generations
you care for the infants, children, youth, young adults -
seniors, those mentally and physically challenged -
the Great Spirit see it all

The symbols of the Native Americans are many 
symbols that led to many a civilization 
explore with each human being within
 and that 
outside their being - and brought about healing
much before the Whites landed on Turtle Island
 they lived in caves - in despicable conditions 
they brought small pox, other STD ailments
to Turtle Island  
those that were indigenous - fell prey to this evil
 continues to this day

We know those that speak with a forked tongue
the many treaties signed and broken
those that are indigenous have suffered too much
no more - this is our time - 
we are in touch
with our ancestors - who led the way and handed down
the wisdom and mysteries handed from  -
 from time immemorial  
in unity, harmony,  fortitude and tenacity -  
we move forward - knowing what we know is best
