The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is one of the worst departments in San Francisco.
What makes SFPUC even worse is that, as an "Enterprise Department," it amasses great wealth from selling its clean drinking water, serving millions, meeting wastewater needs, and more.
Over the last ten years, corruption has reached a saturation point — not long ago, the entire SFPU Commission was let go — except for Kate Stacy.
The present SFPU Commissioners, led by Joshua Arce, Seephen Leveroni, Avni Jamdar, Kate Stacy, and Megan Thurlaw, were chosen to "rubber-stamp all decisions" — more of a CABAL.
The SFPUC forgets that its clean water comes from the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir — the water tapped from the Tuolumne River.
The land was stolen adjacent to Yosemite National Park, once controlled by the United States Forest Service and now by the United States National Park Service.
The land was stolen from the indigenous tribes: the Southern Sierra Miwok Nation, Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians, Bishop Paoite Tribe, Bridgeport Indian Colony, Mono Lake Kootzaduka'a Tribe, North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians of California, and the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians.
I have been monitoring the SFPUC for a long time — and the utter nonsense happening there knows no bounds.
Today, the SFPUC is in dire straits; we will soon have no water to drink or to serve millions, and we will lack the energy to move forward and deal with Quantum technology.
At this time, the SFPUC cannot address quality-of-life issues.
It is using the bond system to bring in money, billions, and audit after audit by the SF Controller's Office clearly points to the SFPUC needing to be upgraded with the latest software and other amenities to meet our clean water and energy needs.
The SFPUC spends millions on consultants who are taking the SFPU Commissioners, the General Manager, and other middle managers for a wild ride.
The SFPU Commission has over 2,000 employees — who are not treated well. In the last 5 years, micromanagement has forced middle management to leave the SFPUC.
Recently, I had to take a case involving three hardworking SFPUC employees who were fired just because they went to middle management and asked them for special training and certification — linked to the " Confined Space" project — working underground forty to fifty feet below, cleaning and sanitizing dirty, stinking reservoirs that have not been clean for over five years. The The
San Francisco Office of Safety and Health Agency fined the SFPUC Water Department on five charges. We are waiting for the General Manager of the SFPUC to execute the action and for the fine to be paid, so that we can proceed to the second stage: suing the SFPUC and other entities that have put our workers in harm's way.
We have not gone to the Main Media, as the situation is very serious — exposing millions of innocent people to contaminated water — knowing that it is contaminated — knowing that deferred maintenance is a very serious issue — and knowing that putting innocent, hardworking employees in harm's way is a crime.
These bastards at the SFPUC Water Department practice nepotism as if the entire Water Department belongs to them.
In the past, one manager was busy showing porn at work, working a few hours, and receiving a salary for hours he did not put in — this has been going on for years.
Other managers were selling copper wire; a few of them went to a shop and stole sunglasses. All this when they should all have been at work.
Why would such idiots be allowed to work and be paid by San Francisco taxpayers?
The SF Police Department has an incident case, and the General Manager of the SFPUC, who wants to retire soon, should look into these happenings, which the General Manager knows about but does nothing about the situation that has brought shame to San Francisco.
The SFPUC is in dire straits, and the entire top management must step aside and fade into oblivion.
Over 200 employees have been fired for no reason — and managers like William Taehan, Frank Jordon, Steve Richie, and Joy Chen should not be working at the SFPUC.
Our current Mayor was informed before he took office about all the corruption at SFPUC and, more broadly, in the Water Department.
The Mayor is a joke, gathering money from billionaires who will later be given contracts, and all this and more, furthering the ongoing corruption.
Political Action Committee is the worst type of entity that allows billionaires to contribute millions — gradually eroding our Democracy and leading to the filthy rich and the demise of the Middle Class that fought for Democracy all these many decades.
Recently, an Iranian American heading the Human Rights Commission was called in and fired. Such actions do no one good.
Several class actions from years ago have charged the City and County of San Francisco with discrimination, retaliation, and abuse, mostly against people of color — and the SF City and County should be ashamed of itself.
We have seen the SF City Attorney's office fake documents and create volumes of pages to retaliate against picked employees, leading workers to humiliation, shock, and hospitalizations.
Families suffer, and no one cares. This is San Francisco, named after Saint Francisco of Assisi — we care for everyone — we embrace all — yet the SFPUC has chosen to use methods that adversely affect hardworking workers who will not listen or abide by wrongdoing.
The SF Civil Rights Commission has failed to help the employees who have been fired without cause — the Union 261 has failed the workers — refusing them help linked to lawyers — employees can only go to the Union lawyers and are forbidden from hiring private lawyers.
Thank God OSHA and the Civil Rights Department have come to the rescue of the fired employees — traumatized and ganged upon.
These bastards who have been ganging on innocent employees must be brought to book for these serious crimes — and compensated. Going through all the steps — each case takes over a year and, in many cases, two years or more.
The paradox is that the SF City Attorney and the SFPUC General Manager are aiding and abetting the retaliation and ganging up on hardworking innocent workers.
The SF City Administrator, the Mayor of San Francisco, the SF District Attorney, the Governor of California, the SF Controller, the SF Inspector General — having no clout — kicking the can.
I have spoken many times to the SFPU Commissioners about the abject corruption.
These idiots do not seem to understand that human beings must be respected and treated as human beings.
Joshua Arce cannot do anything; he just rubber-stamps and talks with both sides of his mouth.
He should step down before it is too late.
As the Chair of the SFPUC, he has no clue about what is happening, much like he did when he was at the City Build that falls under SF Work Force — which has failed to deliver, leaving our youth in limbo — taken for a ride.
In the interim, our Reservoirs in San Francisco need cleaning and proven sanitation. The Reservoirs have NOT been clean or compliant with OSHA standards; we know this and have empirical data to support it.
