FROM THE MOUTH OF CHILDREN AND OUR YOUTH - COME ACTIONS AND WORDS OF WISDOM - SHAMING THOSE WHO FOSTER GREED - AND HAVE HARMED MOTHER EARTH.

Greta Thunberg decided to protest -

and started alone - determined -

to declare to the world - about Climate Change -

she started a "movement" - millions support her.

When Greta Thunberg decided for reasons better known to her spirt - to sit down with a sign and protest outside the Swedish Parliament - in the year 2018 - no one in their wildest imagination - knew that a spark would be lighted  - billions the world over - enlightened.

From the mouths of children and youth - come actions and words of wisdom - challenging those that foster greed - and harm Mother Earth - to wake up and face reality.

Last year this 15 year old girl from Sweden challenged her classmates and all those that had a heart - that time was running out - united - they could address " Climate Change " - curtail the "Carbon Footprint" - and heal Mother Earth.

Greta started alone - then was joined by two more -

and today millions join her in person -

billions support her in spirit 

every Friday for three weeks she protested

until those in power paid attention.

The Great Spirit see it all - and for as long as human beings have lived - we have had those that have had their heart in the right place - and those who have chosen - to live on this Earth consuming and wasting a lot -  thinking nothing of it.

Greta travelled by ship to the United States - may be following the tradition of the Vikings - she talks to the point - simple words  - that cannot be refuted.

When given an opportunity to speak to Congress - she stated that Climate Change is a reality - not because of what she - Greta says - but because the Scientists have said so.

Greta - reminded those present listening to her in Congress - that she is attaching the facts from the Scientists - and ended her talk - within a few minutes.

I have been an environmentalists for over fifty years - first learning about frogs and learning more from lakes, rivers, forests, mountains, farming, recycling, landfills and so on.

Spending hours observing birds, animals, flora, fauna, learning from observation - what is not found in books - learning first hand - and keeping in mind that is always more to learn.

Then sitting at meetings and listening to greedy developers, entities that encouraged " fracking " - and huge oil companies that spoke from both sides of their mouth.

I studied Philosophy, Theology - early on introduced to Anthropology - travelled widely to see things for myself - human beings are complicated - but then we have HOPE.

I listened to some environmentalists that did not take the time to study the facts - the empirical data.

Human beings love to take short cuts - and those that are greedy will waste and foster sacrilege - killing Buffalo more for their fur than as a source for food. Piling heap of Buffalo meat - to rot - dying the norms of the Native Americans.

Cutting the redwood - old growth - more to make money - and failing to respect these trees many over 2000 years old.

There are some that take part in a one day clean up.

Following this small act - they do nothing what so ever - to carry on the clean up daily.

People must learn good habits  - respect others - most cannot do this - because they do not respect themself.

We in San Francisco - can keep our City clean and great  - much like we see in Singapore for example.

Downtown San Francisco stinks to high heaven - thrash heaps everywhere. The authorities are fast asleep - we have a budget of $12.7 Billion - and have little to show - in terms of responsibility and addressing Quality of Life issues.

On some streets of SF - the smell or urine and feces - those in authority - the SF Board of Supervisors - the Mayor of San Francisco - London Breed - trying to win brownie points - addressing " recycling " " and clean up " in a general and superficial manner - some Battle by the Bay - comic.

The skyline of San Francisco has changed -

millions of tons of concrete and aggregate -

used to create this concrete jungle -

generating millions of tons of Carbon Dioxide -

politicians and their minions - 

talking from both side of their mouth.

Never, ever - underestimate our children,

our youth, our young adults -

today they have access of sound information -

the best information creates sound education -

many adults are superficial - more, those that are greedy -

more those that do not have their heart in the right place.

The United States early on decided to take a position that was not conducive to address Climate Change - knowing well that the United States was one of the world's worst polluters.

The United States decided to play games and not sign the required protocols in Japan.

Then in South Africa, in Brazil - in Paris the second time around - after President Barack Obama - did his best to bring all the nations - to sign the best agreement - curtailing " Climate Change "  in the first round. 

Greta met President Barack Obama -
and both shared some pertinent views -
Greta reminding the President - everyone -
can make a difference - never mind if they are children.









Greta challenged the Pope -
to join the Climate Strike -
the Pope is known for taking a stand -
on issues that most differ - he has a vision -
and so far - has favored the Scientists -
who have studied " Climate Change "  - and there is more.








Well done Greta Thunberg
you have opened the windows and doors
letting the fresh air in 
the cobwebs have been blown away
it is time we think another way - the best way


All over the world 
the increase in heat - the warming of our oceans
the depletion of the ozone 
the hurricanes, the heavy rains, the tornadoes 
are creating horrendous damage 
even Mozambique experienced two hurricanes
in a week - never had one as far as one can remember
before



As human beings we must be humble 
much as I see you are - Greta 
that led me - to write this poem for you
showing children, youth, and young adult -
you can attain and bring change 
if you all set your mind - your heart in the right place








You go girl - Greta Thunberg
your have enlightened billions
all over the world and there is more to come
the nay sayers can stay put - and stall all they want 
those that are positive - will shed light 
more light - where there is abject darkness
they will go to a better place









Blessed be your parents and your ancestors
I am an environmentalist working with the indigenous
people - all over the world
this challenge - serving Mother Earth is one that needs tremendous work and spirituality  
if we curtail - the increase in the Carbon Footprint
we can - bring some little change 
the damage has been done -  we are not too late to realize
the harm done - always taking a risk in our foolishness
hoping against hope that we human will be right
