Hetch Hetch Regional Water System
Human beings can be cruel - and when the decision was made to dam the rivers - adjacent to the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir - the wished of the Peutes, the Pomos, the Miwoks - others - that revered the Sacred Waters - were denied - and the Sacrilegious Act - committed. Today - those decisions are coming to haunt the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission - and other very corrupt entities.
Few remember that until 1927 here in San Francisco and California the Whites could kill the Native Americans - and get a measly $5 for a scalp.
Native Americans live here for thousands of years - many tribes living in one area - for over 10, 000 years.
During this time - so called Stakeholders - could claim vast amount of land - stake a place - go to Sacramento - and those that had clout - took the land - no questions - asked.
The most beautiful valley the Hetch Hetchy Valley - was well known and those that loved nature - the likes of John Muir - fought hard to save the Hetch Hetchy Valley - to NO avail.
John Muir died - despondent - and so did others - their cries cry to heaven for justice - and today what we see the SF Public Utilities Commission do - stem from being immoral, unethical, and for sure lacking standards.
The Raker Act of 1913 was pushed by pompous, more racist Congressmen mostly from San Francisco.
Imagine trying to take control of water - some 1600 miles away - have no consideration - about the Native American Tribes - who lived in the area in and around Yosemite National Park - for thousands of years. The National Park was created in 1916.
Before the National Park was created - many do not know - the Buffalo Soldiers - managed what was then know as Federal Lands. The all Black Buffalo Soldier - managed the land - and wrote the Standard Operating Procedures.
The SF Public Utilities Commission is ignorant of this fact- and I see each and every time I meet these folks - who lack information - and so are uneducated on many - salient and pertinent - issues.
The neighboring areas - dam the rivers - a concept that shocked many - but pleased the GREEDY and IMMORAL - dam the rivers - for sure the Tuolumne River - and create this large Reservoir to meet the needs of San Franciscans and the neighboring areas.
Bringing the pristine water - and filling the Reservoir - the tall walls of GRANITE - what an ideal situation - on the land that was stolen - and still belongs to the Native Americans.
The tunnel by Hetch Hetchy
Four large pipes would bring the water all the way to San Francisco - other reservoirs would help store the water along the way - Crystal Springs, the Calavares Dam, and other well positioned sites - that store water.
The most important aspect of this dam - was that most of the pristine water would travel by gravity.
Once four large pipes brought the water down to San Francisco - now we have three - taking into account the latest information we have about - areas - prone to earthquake and other essential information - far superior than we had before.
The San Francisco City Engineer O'Shaughnessy was put in charge - slogans such as " We Never Fail " - spurred those in charge and determined to move forward.
A special rail line was installed to bring in the material - and all in all those that worked on this project - accomplished something that was admired by engineers - worldwide.
Here in San Francisco the Raker Act of 1913 assured clean pristine drinking water. There were Water Companies in San Francisco - and at places you paid $5 for a bucket of clean water.
Soon San Francisco lived in luxury - could take a bath at will - drink the best water and so on and so forth. That is until the gremlins invaded the SFPUC created in 1996 - who today abuse the Sacred Water from Hetch Hetchy - mixing contaminated water with Sacred Hetch Hetchy water.
Such are the ways of the immoral - the corrupt - the ones that will bring shame on humanity. Those that are spiritually - bankrupt.
Once the Hetch Hetchy came into operation there was free Hydro-electricity for our Municipality, free electricity for our Public Housing.
Free electricity for the Military - places like the Presidio of San Francisco a Army Post - received free electricity.
I have the documents - more having worked at the Presidio of San Francisco and having access to information - that the present SF Public Utilities Commission - formed in 1996 - does not have - for all their talk and lack of sound action.
Over the years - Public Housing was mandated to pay for their electricity - a fact that few know about - and more have NOT paid attention to.
Pacific Gas and Electricity rakes in million from the poor - the indigent and poor - the Public Housing was created for initially - and now since most people live from pay check to pay check - many have no any opportunity - but to live in Public Housing.
The Hetch Hetchy dam was created - the water reached its destination - San Francisco.
There was great fun fare - the City Engineer did not see the opening day - a few weeks before the opening - he passed away.
The O'Shaughnessy Scenic Drive - the MUNI 44 give one a taste of this scene - one of many sites - named for the famous City Engineer - who would turn in his grave - if he only knew - the sad state of affairs - prevailing today - within the City and County of San Francisco - and more at the SF Public Utilities Commission.
The Electric Poles to bring electricity to San Francisco - were laid and stopped some miles away from San Francisco .
At that time San Francisco has jurisdiction from San Francisco all the way to Palo Alto - hence the title we have and enjoy - The City and County of San Francisco.
Pacific Gas and Electric was created and Pacific Gas and Electric - completed the laying of the Electric Poles - and brought the Electricity to San Francisco.
The rich and powerful bought stocks and shares in PG&E - and those in power - I call them the Pacific Heights Mafia - made a lot of money and do so to this day.
In 1996 the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) was created. Before that and even now the SF Water Department - does most of the repairs and maintenance - out sourced to the SF Water Department.
The larger contract are given out to Prime - most of them well connected the likes of AECOM, URS, JACOBS, they are all connected to other entities - who are well connected.
Pay to play schemes - are plenty - and some of the SF Public Utilities Commission staff - are part of the scheme - they think we do not know it but we do.
It is a shame how the SF Public Utilities Commission - tries to portray that it does good - when the ploys, machinations, and shenanigans are plenty - coming under the SF Department of Public Works.
The very fact that today we have reached a stage - where the health of the infants, our children, our youth, our young adults, our seniors, those with compromised health - are adversely impacted - speaks volumes.
Some despicable SF Public Utilities Employees the likes of Juliet Ellis - who is the Assistant General Manger for External Affairs - control the Communication Department - and is NOT qualified for this job.
Juliet Ellis -
the Assistant General Manager -
who has failed us all - and continue to mess things.
She comes from the Non-Profit sector - where political whores are made - they beg for money - and try to acquire it any which way it take to make money.
Just imagine - sending over $200, 000 to Green For All - the former Non-Profit she worked for. Then receiving one salary from SFPUC and another from Green For all - still clinging to her position as a Board Member - such nonsense speaks volumes - but is just the tip of the vast corruption and more - going on at SF Public Utilities Commission.
Do not get me wrong - not all of the SF Public Utilities Commission employees are crooks and corrupt - but, by large measure that are " hot spots " - of racism - wheeling and dealing, and and more has been recored in the open - and information available - under the Privacy Act and the Freedom of Information Act.
This Mixing Ground Water with the waters stored in our Reservoirs must STOP. For sure we should not have done it this year - the year all of Reservoirs and over full - and million of gallons of water are released - to stop damage to our reservoirs - many retrofitted - but more needing a upgrade and retrofitting.
We the people - we the COMMONS - must be respected.
If San Francisco Public Utilities Commission does not learn to respect the public at large - they will have only themselves to blame. Aho.
