As you kn...Thank you for your comments, Francisco. As you know, the area where Journie lived used to have monitors to measure the radioactive particulates being emitted from the environment near Navy Road. For some reason, the batteries were removed and now the monitors are gone. Perhaps Journie's death could have been prevent had her parents known abou the hazards of living in that area.

On December 24, 2015, would have been Journie's 3rd birthday. She fought a long and painful battle. Aside from her parents, Aside from her family, people all over the world came to know about Journie's plight and were impacted by her life. Journie's first diagnosis was lung cancer. The cancer then metatasized to her liver. Although she was able to receive a liver transplant, the cancer returned to her lungs. She was given radiation and she received high does of chemo therapy. She developed more complicated that compromised her kidney and her spleen and she developed leukemia. A clarion call went out through social media requesting bone marrow donors. People all over the world responded and, even Janet Jackson got involved with the family to assist them in finding a donor. Fortunately one was found and was prepared to give marrow on Monday, November 30, 2015. However, on November 20th, Journie became sicker. The leukemia was so voracious, her white cell count went from 20,000 to 187,000 in less than 36 hours. In spite of the heroic efforts by the medical team at Children's Hospital Oakland, Journie transitioned at 8:00a.m, Thanksgiving morning. I christened her when she was a newborn baby, and watched her grow and, for almost two years, I watched her fight through pain, agony, and suffering until her little heart just gave out. We prayed for healing, and God answered our prayers. This little angel is no longer in pain and misery...no more suffering, no more chemo or radiation. She won't be needing any of that anymore. She was a sweet and adorable little child. During her short time on earth, she taught us lessons about love, patience, endurance and suffering. No one comes to earth without a purpose. Journie had a purpose. She was a teacher of love and compassion. Those of us who were blessed to be in her class, will never be the same. Thank God for Journie's journey.Pastorjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10052665964305516408noreply@blogger.com
